In June of 2010 God gave John Stirzaker, Director of God’s Mighty Voice the opportunity to visit Mali, West Africa as an adult leader on a youth mission’s trip. The trip was sponsored by Marietta Alliance Church, in Marietta, Georgia and the group had the opportunity to visit missionaries, Al & Lauralyn Stombaugh, on a ten-day journey through Mali.
John had gained 27 years of experience, resources, connections, and abilities during his career in the broadcast industry. His prayer before leaving was that God would reveal to him if these could be used on the mission field. One of the stops made during the trip was in Koutiala at Bethel Bible College, home to “Radio Futanga”92 FM. After spending time with the staff of the station John gained tremendous insight into the potential of Christian radio reaching hundreds of untouched villages for Christ. This is where God began to reveal to him how his broadcasting experience could be used on the mission field.
After much prayer and meetings with trusted counselors God has lead John to form a non-denominational, non-profit 501 c3 ministry called “God’s Mighty Voice.”
Mission
To use the power of a radio signal to spread “God’s Mighty Voice” to reach lost villages, towns and cities throughout the world with the love and hope of Jesus.
Vision
To come alongside full time missionaries and organizations around the world and help them complete their ministry objectives by strategically building new radio stations or upgrading existing Christian stations in targeted towns, villages and cities in their area of ministry.
- These stations will be built and funded by using John’s connections in the radio industry to acquire used/outdated radio equipment from US radio companies as a charitable contribution and raise money through Christian radio fundraisers, events, and personal contributions.
