Keeping FaithKeeping Our Kids in the Christian Faith
Some thoughts from Joost Nixon…
“There is an emotional continuum in which Christian parents live. One end is expressed by the words of the Apostle John, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth” (3 John 4). The other end of the continuum is expressed by the Apostle Paul, “I have great sorrow and continual grief in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my countrymen according to the flesh,” (Romans 9:2–3). The consummate Father, God is not silent about a topic that is so dear to us. His Word tells us of our children’s covenantal identity in Christ. As we learn to believe what God says about our children, we will speak and live and parent in a manner that brings great blessing on our children, and joy to us as parents as we see them faithfully loving Christ.
