Born in Martinsville, Virginia to a father bent on becoming a Baptist minister, and a devoted, loving mother, Rusty Lackey moved to Lexington, North Carolina with his family when he was a child. Watching his dad’s determination to reach his goal of becoming an educated theologian, and accompanying him on his ministerial rounds, set the stage for Rusty to learn how hard work pays off and perseverance wins out. He also discovered the power of giving back to others in order to succeed and enrich his own life.

As an athlete in high school, he engaged in competitive weightlifting and strength conditioning, applying the rules he learned in sports to his everyday life.

“If you’re going to win, you have to consistently condition your mind to go where you want it to go, giving it your all in everything you do. That’s why I hang around with people who challenge me and who don’t allow circumstances to get in their way. I’m always focused on where I’m going and on the priorities I have put into place. I go where I’m celebrated, not where I’m tolerated. That type of attitude only comes with conditioning of the mind.”

A former investment banker, he quit his job to enter the world of multi-level network marketing in 2001. After a health crisis that caused his weight to exceed 700 pounds and nearly kill him, he fought his way back to a healthier, more normal size through medical assistance and by using his company’s products and applicators. He began devoting his life to spreading the word that perseverance pays off, and no one is without hope.

Today, he is a highly sought-after speaker and an industry leader for the company, generating annual sales in the millions.

Married to Robin Lackey, “the love of his life”, for the past 35 years, the couple has two children, Ellen, 23, and Samantha, 17. The family still lives in Lexington where Rusty grew up.
