Who We Are https://www.yadkinvalleyquwf.org/
We are your local chapter of the national organization Quail and Upland Wildlife Federation, serving the area known as the Yadkin Valley. This area encompasses Davidson, Forsyth, Yadkin, Rowan, Stokes and Surry counties. We are a group of like-minded sportsmen, actively supporting all types of conservation efforts with sporting and community events for adults and youth planned throughout the year. If you would like to join us in our endeavors we would love to expand our membership and have you become involved with the Chapter. Membership is open to all, the only qualifications are a desire for upland wildlife habitat restoration and membership in our national organization. If you would like to be a part of the Chapter join us at our next meeting and see first-hand what we are all about.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide at no cost seed for quail and upland wildlife food plantings to develop habitat to sustain wild populations of the bobwhite quail and other upland wildlife. We strive to educate this generation and future generations of landowners in the importance of habitat to support these populations. We also believe involving youth and adults alike in the community of outdoor field sports is paramount to achieving these tasks. Working together with hunters of all types of upland game benefits each of our respective species. Together we can accomplish more!
The next season starts here.
The small game season has grown to a close and Spring is here. For most it is time to start new habitat projects by turning and prepping fields to clearing trees for an expanding duck impoundment. Some cover such as wheat should be planted earlier in the year but Ole’ Man Winter only gives a few dry days for such projects. Below you can see where Wesley Barnes and Paul Parker are getting our Dove Fields prepped and the wheat sown during such a break in the winter weather. If the growing seasons cooperate we should have awesome habitat come fall of the year. We hope you are planning and developing habitat along with us. Please feel free to send your photos to Randall Patterson at rsp@embarqmail.com and they will end up on this site or our slide show to played at our Annual Fund Raiser Banquet.
